We had a joint prayer meeting on Sept. 11 with the antiochers of Our Lady of Assumption Parish (Maragondon). We had been planning it before the Antioch - Grand Prayer Summit, and finally, we found a schedule for it. The joint prayer meeting was somehow a bonding activity for two communities aglow with faith in God.
The prayer meeting started kind of late, because we waited for Bro. Randy's announcement about the upcoming 6th Vocation Festival. Also, we were waiting for the other antiochers and for the other meetings in the church to finish. After the opening liturgy, we started with the Superlative game as an icebreaker. Ate Nette's talk about Joy and Happiness followed.
Ate Nette shared a little about her experrience as a World Youth Day '11 delegate in Madrid, Spain. She told us a line from one of the speakers in the event that had an impact on her; it was "Live your faith and be the best that you can be." She shared her thoughts and ideas about joy and happiness. And she even shared a list of 50 ways to be happy, which she found somewhere. I remembered a book I bought four years ago entitled "If I really wanted to be happy, I would..." Like the list she shared with us, the book also listed different ways to be happy supported with a quotation from the scripture or famous personalities. What I did before was open a particular page on that book and try to do it within a week, which some I have done and a lot I haven't yet. Actually, I was planning before to give this book to another person and instruct that person to give it to another person after he/she finished all the things listed on the book. It's like a pay-it-forward thing. That plan is yet to happen.
Anyway, I was happy with the recent joint prayer meeting and I hope that there will be a lot to come. Here are some of the pictures taken:
