I grew up in Cavite, Philippines - in a small town called Naic. I lived and went home there even while studying and working in far off cities. It is where I grew spiritually, and where I happily met Michael. Certain things can trigger an overwhelming sense of nostalgia in me and my hometown is definitely one of them - fortunately it's the good kind of nostalgia.
I love pasta and coffee, folk music, horror movies, singing and playing the guitar or ukulele with Michael, sewing and upcycling clothes, and trying new dishes and following recipes by Bon Appétit and Laura Vitale. On some weekends, Michael and I enjoy road trips and exploring new places, while listening to Florence + the machine.
of angels and seagulls sprang up in 2011, out of boredom and a brief period of unemployment after college. Creating this blog has made me eager to learn more about design and has provided me a nook to linger on my thoughts about anything and sometimes, about relevant life realizations. I share photos and personal experiences, and write about travels, films, relationships, family, growing in a community, teaching, and more. Well, I write about random things because my interests like yours, are unconfined.
I named this blog after one of my favorite songs. The name has grown on me over the years and realized that it has more meaning than just being a line in a song. of angels and seagulls is about finding comfort and taking risks, about joy and misery and the bits and pieces that make life worth living, and finally about chances and choices and the changes they bring.
