Funny how we learn to appreciate some things only after seeing them from down, below. Yes, below.
Last summer, I did not stop asking friends to ride a boat and sail somewhere near, until we finally had the chance to get a boat trip. One afternoon, we borrowed a boat from a friendly friend's neighbor and went on sailing in the creek. We did not have a companion expert at using a paddle for boating that's why the boat simply went on zigzag. At times, when bigger boats went on our way, I was a little thrilled at the ripples that they made. Some ripples were big, some ripples were small.
That short distance from where we started paddling to that big bridge we usually passed by, took us almost two hours to reach. As we approached that part where we were directly below the bridge, some friends and I shouted out loud. Real loud, that some people passing by that bridge would look down on us out of curiosity of what was happening. The bridge looks small and simple from below, not like when you're up there. That bridge had been useful for the longest time for us. I remember when that bridge was down because of a typhoon and when it was being rebuilt, it was such a pain in the a** for most commuters to cross that bridge.

After that boat trip, I have never looked at that bridge as ordinary as before. Sometimes, I remember how it felt when I was under that bridge, how exciting it was, how fun it was with friends.
It's just amazing how one's perception changes once you have a close encounter with that particular thing or situation, how simple experiences taught you something nice. How something may seem plain and useless, and you would realize how good and valuable that something really is. Well, that's one of the discoveries that life teaches us.
That's all for now, God bless! ♡
