Spending the days simply and wisely

November 7, 2011

Last week's three days off from work had been fun. It was tiring and I did not get enough sleep but after all, it's all worth it.

My original plan for the long weekend was to stay at home, get enough sleep and rest, download movies and watch them with family. But, my friend Grace suggested that we jog on Sunday morning. I agreed and we invited other friends to join us.

On Sunday morning, we did not really jog; we walked instead. It was nicer to observe the sunrise and all the trees and grasses and listen to the sound they made, than to miss it all and focus on our jogging. I certainly missed seeing the sunrise and enjoying it with friends. As usual, we commented on things we saw, both common and unusual. We laughed hard on funny things and enjoyed talking about things that were never related to that morning walk. We took our breakfast together in a 24/7 gotohan and finally walked home. That afternoon, we joined the Karakol for the anniversary of La Virgen de Porta Vaga in our parish. It went well and I found some peace even after the tiring Karakol.

We planned to jog again on Monday morning and failed to notice the sunrise because it was quite cloudy. That time, I was with Keith, Grace, Shen and Jade. We tried to jog a little but we were walking almost all the time. We took our breakfast again in the gotohan and went to Everlasting Park. They visited their deceased relatives and we took a rest there. We walked home after.

My mom wanted to go to the mall so we went to SM Rosario with my little nephew. We watched a funny movie, laughed at some parts and I thought that there were too many punchlines. But, overall it was nice. I also bought a new pair of shoes and a violet sling bag.

I liked how my weekend went. It was simple but I enjoyed it. I realized how simply one can enjoy the day. And I appreciate that I live in a place where one can still breathe fresh air and enjoy the view of the sea, the trees, and grasses. Next time, I hope I can get my bike fixed and I will be ready to ride bicycles again. ☺
