Welcome Summer!

April 12, 2014

Batangas is one of the nearest places to see when you got the itch for the beach for those who live in the metro. It is just 2-3 hours away from Manila and offers various beaches with clear waters and fine semi-white sand.

My friends and I decided that we should go to Nasugbu, Batangas last March 22 to 23. The main reason was actually to have some fun time with Jade before she goes to Bahrain, but she didn't push that plan of going abroad. Well, not yet. Nevertheless, it was a plan and we wanted to make it happen. Aldrin has relatives there, and he said that we could stay overnight at his lola's house. Unfortunately, Keishien couldn't come because of work time conflict.

We left for Batangas at ten in the morning. We commuted to Mendez-crossing and waited for the bus that could take us to Nasugbu. After almost two and a half hours of travel, we finally reached the house of Aldrin's lola. They prepared meals for us and after a while, we were ready to swim at Matabungkay!

There were a lot of people swimming already. The sand and the water were inviting. After looking for a place where we could put our things, we changed clothes and dived into the water.

We rode a tricycle back to Lian and went to the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. John de Baptist for a while. We ate dinner in the house and decided to take a night walk at the town. We walked through a strip of resorts and stayed at Jollibee while finishing our ice cream. We went home and got a good sleep.

We woke up with a sound of an explosion, which we discovered was Aldrin's alarm. We immediately got up because of that sound. Haha! We took a pretty, nice walk at the streets leading to Ternate-Nasugbu highway. We stopped when we could already see the landscape of the town. The view was relaxing. After stopping for a while at a small grotto, we went to Wawa port. We rode a boat going to what they call as Interlink beach. We were amazed by the clear waters and quickly swam in the sea.

Well, everyone's entitled to a selfie - the beach made me do it ☺️

The overnight stay at Batangas was worth it. We definitely had fun and enjoyed each other's company, even if Jade always got some worries. Haha!

Have a happy start of summer!☺️
